<p>"A game made in a weekend topped the most expensive one in history", says Google.</p><p>The search giant isn't talking about profit or critical reaction, but search traffic. And in 2014, people were way more interested in Flappy Bird than Bungie's $500 million opus, Destiny.</p><p>"At its peak, the search trend for Flappy Bird was more than double that of Destiny", says the Big G. Bungie's game actually took fourth place, with Threes! knock-off 2048 in second and FIFA 15 in third.</p><p>Flappy Bird came out in late 2013, but searches on Google surged in February when the game was pulled from the App Store.</p><p>Also of note: mobile games were the most searched video game format of last year, but our precious apps were less popular than card games. Next year, solitaire. Next year…</p>
<p>Flappy Bird developer Dong Nguyen is back with Swing Copters, a hyper challenging twitch reflex game similar to its aforementioned avian precursor.</p><p>It will be available for free on iOS and Android this Thursday, on August 21st, with a 69p / 99c in-app purchase to remove ads.</p><p>Instead of playing a bird, Swing Copters puts you in control of a little dude fitted with an unfortunately jerky propeller helmet.</p><p>Tapping on the screen changes the direction your character is flying, from left to right, as it ascends into the air.</p><p>What makes Swing Copters even more challenging than Flappy Bird is the addition of moving obstacles.
